3rd Annual Bacon Bash Texas

texas bacon bash 2014On October 18th in Cranfills Gap, a town about 50 miles from Waco, the 3rd Annual Bacon Bash Texas will bring beer, bands, and of course delicious bacon to the masses.

The event will be held at the Horny Toad Bar & Grill, and will also feature a bacon cook-off in addition to the music, beer, and food available.

As for the music, the website for the event lists no specific bands, mentioning only “local band” will be in attendance. So if you’re from Cranfills Gap, and dig the local music scene, you might be excited by that! If not, I’m sure the music will be good just the same.

Tickets are $50 (according to their site – some sources are reporting $40 incorrectly). The ticket price includes access to the bash, a few drinks, and all the bacon you can eat. If you bring a coat or blanket to donate to Niki Warms the Cold, you’ll be entered to win a Kent Wenzel “Bite My Butt” box. There’s no info on what exactly that is, but one assumes a bacon-related prize. The proceeds from the Bash will also go to Niki Warms the Cold, who will use this year’s money to send a diabetic kid to Camp Sweeny – a residential camp for diabetic kids.

The bash officially begins at 5:00, and the free bacon sampling ends at 8:00. But that’s also when the music starts, so feel free to hang around!

The Bacon Bash is a 21-and-up event due to the copious amount of suds being passed around. You’ve got two weeks to find a sitter…get to it!
