Cape Coral Bacon Fest This Weekend

Cape Coral, Florida is kicking off their first ever Bacon Fest this weekend.

Rather than a traditional festival setting, this Bacon Fest is a restaurant crawl. Trolleys will take the bacon lovers to 13 different restaurants where they’ll enjoy many varied bacon items from entrees to appetizers, even desserts and drinks.

The Cape Coral Bacon Fest starts Saturday at 6:00 p.m. Participants will check in at 5:30 to get their wristband and passport at the Big John Plaza and club Square. The tickets are $20, and can be purchased at participating restaurants. You must be 21 years old to attend (several of the places are bars).

These sorts of restaurant crawls have become popular recently as a way to drive some foot traffic to downtown businesses. They sometimes have themes, but this is the first bacon themed crawl I’ve heard of.

If you live in the area, or if you’ll be visiting, you should definitely check it out. Because it’s a local thing, I wouldn’t advise travelling for this one, but if you’re bored, it could be a lot of fun!

Check out their local news page for a list of restaurants.
